There are salespeople and then there is the rest of us. For us, in an ocean of business opportunities, securing one opportunity is a tough job (especially when you are selling remotely and selling to a different culture of people). How does someone even trust that you can deliver the promised land?
When you are deprived of opportunities, you will value each and every opportunity. This is your strong suit.
The best strategy is to expand from a customer you already have (I’ll speak about finding the first customer on a different note). Trust me - if you serve your customer like they are the king, you listen to all their problems, work out solutions with them and win them you already have seeded your growth. I’ve often seen mentalities in people where they want to get paid for what what they do - This often works when you are wearing the consultants/freelancer/employee hats. If you are looking to build sustainable businesses, you’ll need to go above and beyond to make sure that the customer is getting value. This ensures that your basement is strong. This gives you more opportunities just through word of mouth.
I was able to go from 0$ to 100K$ in ARR primarily through word of mouth. This includes customers referring to other customers. When employees recommend your product when they switch companies. Competitors reaching out to you with the value you have created for them
I am working on expanding to different markets and when l do, I will occupy the same strategy. I will value my customers
